Miami's Sanguich restaurant, which stands out as one of the most fantastic options when it comes to eating Cuban sandwiches, has just opened its fourth location in Bayside Marketplace, near the sea, after having brought its unique flavor to Coral Gables just a few months ago.

From its beginnings in 2015 with a small, temporary location at an arts festival to its consolidation in 2018 with the opening of the first establishment on Calle Ocho in Little Havana and its subsequent expansion, the business has achieved significant popularity in the culinary scene of South Florida. This year it has received several awards, being named Best Cuban Sandwich by New Times and making the annual list of New Times Required Eating 2024.

Its owners, Daniel Figueredo and Rosa Romero, intend for the menu of this new establishment in the center of the City of the Sun to continue delighting visitors with gastronomic offerings of excellent quality that reflect its Cuban roots and that have guaranteed its success and distinction in the sector, to such an extent that this venture has been awarded the Big Gourmand of the Michelin Guide for three consecutive years.

In an effort to highlight the positive impact the New Times win has had, Figueredo said: “Since we opened our first restaurant in Little Havana in 2018, we have been bombarded with requests for more locations, especially after being voted the best Cuban sandwich in Miami.”

Regarding the new Miami project, he added: “Bayside is now our fourth location in South Florida, and we’re just getting started. We’re excited to bring our sandwiches to more neighborhoods in the region and across the U.S.”

The inauguration of the new space took place on August 25 and included a ribbon-giving ceremony in the presence of the co-owners, their families and the workers.

Commenting on the business’s tremendous success, Romero said, “It’s truly gratifying to see our authentic food resonate with locals and tourists alike, and we’re thrilled to have a home in one of Miami’s busiest neighborhoods. Our commitment to quality, tradition, and community remains unwavering as we grow and maintain our title as Miami’s number one Cuban sandwich.”

The menu includes a wide variety of exquisite classic dishes including the iconic Cuban with slow-cooked pork loin marinated in garlic and other spices, as well as pan con lechón, pan con croqueta and pan con bistec.

Diners will also be able to complement these culinary offerings with traditional island smoothies such as mamey, banana and wheat, which are delicious and ideal for cooling off in the heat that prevails in Miami. They will also have the opportunity to enjoy the tasty dessert “Flancay.”
