Key requirement for traveling to Cuba as a tourist comes into force in 2025

All tourists traveling to Cuba must obtain an electronic visa on the official website evisacuba.cu, starting June 30 of this year 2025, as established by the Ministry of Tourism.

Gihana Galindo Enríquez, commercial director of the Ministry of Tourism (MINTUR), told Granma newspaper that there are currently two categories of visas available: the traditional tourist card and the recently introduced electronic visa called Evisa.

The official explains that this last category provides greater security and efficiency during the visa process, as well as being easier to use for those travelling.

Galindo Enríquez also said that travelers must log in to the portal at least 72 hours before their arrival in Cuba.

At the end of the process, a code consisting of ten characters is created, which the traveler must enter on the DViajeros platform, a digital form to enter the country.

This procedure creates a QR code that must be shown to immigration officials upon landing.

The official indicated that travelers now have the option to complete the DViajeros form up to seven days before their trip.

The new electronic visa platform was first presented at the Tourism Fair (FITUR) in May of last year, and its formal launch took place in August of that year, although it was not yet mandatory to opt for this modality.
