After a pause due to inclement weather that prevented the finishing touches from being made, the first phase of Doral Central Park in Miami was inaugurated last Monday. The large facility, located an hour from Inter Miami's soccer stadium where Lionel Messi plays, offers a paradise for those who wish to visit it, with a variety of attractions and natural spaces to spend time with the family.
At 2:30 pm on Monday, the park welcomed its first visitors after the first investment phase was finally concluded. The afternoon was marked by different cultural and recreational activities for all ages, including the official ceremony from 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm and then a concert, according to Diario Las Américas.
Doral Mayor Christi Fraga made a statement on the completion of this first phase of the project that benefits the city's residents. "It's a dream come true for many, something long awaited. We promised that in two years we would do it, and here we are in the first phase," Fraga said.
He added that he was very happy with the work carried out by all those involved in its realisation, and thanked the residents for their patience during the initial construction phase.
Among the attractions of the site, the beautiful lake stands out, surrounded by immense green areas perfectly conditioned so that the family can enjoy themselves in total safety and interact with the surroundings of the area. It is a place that also allows you to relax and have fun in its different spaces.
This first stage includes an open-air amphitheater that will be used for concerts by groups and for presentations of events that benefit the Doral community. It also has a pedestrian zone and a bicycle path so that people can walk through the park from one end to the other and enjoy all the available spaces.
It has an area with several volleyball, basketball and soccer fields and a small outdoor gym for exercise lovers. The little ones and young people can also have fun in the skate park and Pump Track or, if they prefer, in other inflatable parks that have been set up there. Those who like water activities can find a dock from which they can fish, and there is a fleet of kayaks to explore every part of the extensive lake and see the rest of the park from another panoramic view.
The spectacular park was financed with a Doral Parks General Bond that was approved six years ago for a value of 150 million dollars. The mayor says that this place has as its primary objective that the community of Doral has a beautiful open-air space capable of bringing together dozens of families and interacting with each other and with the nature of the territory in total safety and recreation.
As for the second stage of the investment process, he added, it is expected to be available to the public at the beginning of next year. This other part of the project will allow for other areas aimed at water sports and physical exercise in a healthy, open-air environment.
Upon completion of the second phase, visitors will have access to a center with lounges for different uses, mostly for young people and adults. There will be an area for swimming and other activities, as well as additional basketball and tennis courts and an additional parking lot that will help residents park their vehicles and improve access to the facilities.
City officials believe there is still much to be done to ensure the enjoyment of the park by residents and those arriving from other counties in the Sunshine State. "The land for this park was provided by the county, and one of the agreements is that it will be open to the entire community," Fraga explained to the local press.
The venue is located in the southern part of Miami, 70 kilometers from Chase Stadium, home of Inter Miami. Specifically, it is located on Northwest 92nd Avenue at 3005, practically three blocks from the Trump National Doral hotel in the City of the Sun.
