Florida Publix sold a $2 million winning ticket in the Triple Play Jackpot game

One person has won a Florida Lottery ticket after the winning numbers were announced Friday and gambling officials said it was sold at a Publix in the Sunshine State. The winning ticket turned out to be for the Jackpot Triple Play with Combo game and the amount at stake was $2 million.

The winning numbers were 3-9-16-29-39 and 44. According to game officials, the ticket was sold at a Publix at 3400 North Federal Highway in Pompano Beach. The last time a ticket for this game was a winner was in April at a 7-Eleven in Indian Shores, Florida.

This particular game offers the advantage of having three chances to win with each ticket you buy. Each ticket is worth one dollar and corresponds to three lines of numbers. For the first line, you must choose six numbers from 1 to 46 (you can also choose to use the “Quick Pick” option where the numbers will be selected at random). Quick Pick then automatically selects two other lines each with six numbers.

In the advance play section of the ticket you have, you have the opportunity to play with the same numbers over and over again by marking the number of draws you want to play, no more than thirty.

Tickets must be purchased up to twenty minutes before the drawing, otherwise you will be entered into the next drawing. Drawings take place every Tuesday and Friday night at 11:15 p.m. ET.

The jackpot starts at $500,000 and rolls over each time there is no winner, up to a maximum of $2,000,000. Once that cap is reached, any additional prize money (that would have been added to the jackpot before it reached $2 million) rolls over to the lower-tier prizes, meaning it is added to all of the lower-tier prizes for each drawing until someone wins the jackpot.
