President Trump plans to end the Humanitarian Parole Program

According to Reuters sources, Donald Trump intends to end programs such as Biden's "Humanitarian Parole" that facilitates legal entry and access to work permits for hundreds of thousands of migrants from four countries.

The initiatives include a program for specific migrants supported by U.S. sponsors and another that allows migrants residing in Mexico to use an app to schedule border crossings.

According to sources, people in the US whose Humanitarian Parole has expired may have the option to leave on their own and subsequently seek legal entry without facing any penalties.

Trump is expected to engage in talks with Mexico about reviving his Remain in Mexico initiative, which mandated that asylum seekers from outside Mexico wait in Mexico while their claims were processed in the U.S.

According to sources, one executive action planned for the first day of Trump's presidency is a directive focused on the apprehension and detention of undocumented immigrants residing in the United States.

Trump reportedly plans to scrap guidance put in place by the Biden administration, which focused on deporting people with significant criminal records while restricting actions against non-criminals.

Trumpโ€™s directive would emphasize deportations of people with serious felony charges and those who have used all their legal options to stay. However, it would not prevent officials from detaining other immigrants who could also be subject to deportation.

According to ICE, approximately 1,4 million people in the United States have final deportation orders, a key issue that will be prioritized by the incoming Trump administration.
