This Tuesday, Eliannis Ramírez, mother of Cuban boy Damir Ortiz, shared the news that her little son has begun breathing on his own at Nicklaus Children's Hospital in Miami, where he has been hospitalized since his arrival on March 12, 2025.

On his Facebook page, he left the following message: "Right now, right now, Damir is breathing on his own. Thank you, God!" expressing joy at the boy's improvement, who had been dependent on a ventilator since his arrival in Miami.


In a later post, he wrote: “They told me he wouldn’t last even 10 days on a ventilator, and look, God, this is for your glory. What’s left to extubate him is nothing.”

“Today my son's white blood cell count is over 5, platelets are over 100, and hemoglobin is over 9,” ​​Damir's mother shared on Sunday. “His bedsores are also completely healed, and all inflammation has gone down,” she said, hopeful about the positive results from the treatment her little one is receiving.
