A resident in central Florida has a million reasons to celebrate the start of 2025, Belinda Dozier has just claimed a $1 million prize from the Bonus Letter Crossword scratch-off game, reported 12News.
The Sanford woman purchased her winning ticket at Upsala Grocery at 300 Upsala Road, according to lottery officials. And on Monday, Dec. 30, 2024, she learned she was a winner.
Belinda Dozier chose to receive her winnings as a one-time lump sum payment of $640,000. The grocery store will receive an additional $2,000 commission for selling the winning ticket.
Scratch-off games are a major part of the Florida Lottery's offerings, accounting for approximately 74% of ticket sales in fiscal year 2023-2024.
