Marco Rubio Takes Over as United States Secretary of State

In a ceremony full of emotion and meaning, Vice President JD Vance swore in Marco Rubio as the new Secretary of State of the United States. This event not only marks a milestone in Rubio's political career, but also highlights the importance of his role in the administration of President Donald Trump.

Vice President Vance began the ceremony by welcoming Rubio's family, highlighting the presence of his four children and his wife, whom he thanked for their unwavering support. "It's a great occasion," said Vance, who added that it is difficult to top the day he was sworn in as Vice President, especially when it coincides with the Buckeyes' national championship victory.

Rubio, the son of Cuban immigrants, grew up in a humble background but developed a deep love for his country. Vance described him as a “bipartisan solution seeker,” capable of achieving results and a conservative of great principle and vision. “Senator Rubio, I understand President Trump’s distinctive priorities and why they represent a significant shift in foreign policy,” Vance added, stressing that Rubio will be the nation’s top diplomat.

An Oath of Responsibility

The ceremony continued with the administration of the oath of office. Rubio raised his right hand and solemnly repeated: “I pledge to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, both foreign and domestic.” This moment symbolizes not only his new position, but also his commitment to the country and its people.

After being sworn in, Rubio thanked his wife Janette and his children for their constant support. "The most important legacy we will leave behind is that of being fathers and husbands. I am honored that you are here today," he said emotionally.

A New Chapter in Foreign Policy

Rubio also thanked President Trump for the nomination and his colleagues in the Senate for their unanimous support, reflected in the 99-0 vote. “This is a transformative moment for the United States,” he said, noting that the administration’s foreign policy will focus on the country’s national interests. “Everything we do must be justified by the answer to three questions: Does it make us stronger? Does it make us safer? Does it make us more prosperous?”

Rubio also stressed that promoting peace through strength is one of the main goals of U.S. foreign policy. "It is extraordinary that this is said and has not been mentioned enough in recent times," he said.

A Special Message

In a significant gesture, Rubio addressed his community in Spanish, expressing his pride in his roots and his commitment to the American people. “I thank God and my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for this extraordinary opportunity,” he concluded, emphasizing the importance of his faith in this new chapter of his life.

With the confirmation of Marco Rubio as Secretary of State, a new era in American diplomacy begins, where his experience and vision are expected to contribute to a stronger approach focused on American interests.

I swear with my fingers crossed that I won't be screwed if he didn't do anything during his time in the Senate, he'll do even less now.
