Miami's La Mar, a famous Peruvian restaurant, will move to another location in Brickell

La Mar by Gaston Acurio, the renowned Peruvian restaurant in Miami that appears in the Michelin Guide will now have a new space in Brickell, he said El Nuevo Herald.

The new location is located at 1451 South Miami Ave. and is currently under construction but is expected to be completed by the end of this year.

The owner, who opened the first restaurant two decades ago, said the new location, a mile from the original in the Mandarin Oriental hotel on Brickell Key, is intended to be an updated version for La Mar lovers in Miami.

Design Agency is in charge of the interior design of the new restaurant, so a cozy atmosphere for diners is guaranteed.

In a statement, Acurio said: โ€œIt has been an incredible 10+ years at Mandarin Oriental and now we are taking the opportunity to refresh our image. We are excited to present a more modern version of our vision, where every dish, drink and design element is elevated.โ€

The current location of La Mar opened in 2014, and with its panoramic views of Biscayne Bay and the Miami skyline, as well as the quality of its exquisite dishes such as ceviche, grilled anticuchos and seafood, it quickly won the preference of many in South Florida.

However, its closure is due to the upcoming demolition of the Mandarin Oriental, which will close on May 31, 2025, and will open in 2030 as a resort and two condominiums.

La Mar is already a well-known and prestigious franchise in several countries. Cities such as Buenos Aires, Bogotรก, Chile, San Francisco, Doha and Dubai have a presence here. A new branch of La Mar will also open this year in Madrid.
