Florida Considered as the Top Domestic Tourist Destination in the US in 2023

Visit Florida reported Monday that Florida continued to lead as the top U.S. tourism destination in 2023, experiencing significant growth of 14,8% over the previous year at 13,8%. This increase was the highest among all states.

Today, Governor Ron DeSantis emphasized that Florida's unbeatable combination of world-class attractions, exceptional hospitality and unwavering dedication, combined with the freedom of Florida, has firmly established us as the premier vacation choice.

DeSantis stressed that data provided by Visit Florida indicates the state is moving in the right direction, with a focus on emphasizing public safety and practical leadership.

In 2023, Florida attracted the most domestic travel compared to other destinations, according to the publication. However, many previously popular destinations experienced a decline in visitors.

California experienced a 1,2 percentage point decline, while New York experienced a 0,8 point drop.

Dana Young, president and CEO of Visit Florida, believes the state’s continued success in attracting visitors reflects its widespread appeal both nationally and internationally.

“From our pristine beaches and tranquil state parks to the excitement of our world-renowned theme parks and vibrant cities, they continue to captivate visitors with their unparalleled experiences,” Young said.
