The United States Embassy in Havana, Cuba, referred through its social networks to family reunification visas, taking into account that there are very old cases, others dating back to 2017 and some more recent ones that have not yet been resolved.

Apparently, the issue was addressed by the diplomatic mission in response to complaints from many Cubans, who are in complete uncertainty about the status of their applications.

One of the affected, identified as Yanet del Rosario Segarra, turned to the official Facebook profile of this institution, stating: "They have cases without a response and without giving any information or solution since the closure of the Embassy in 2017, cases that were interviewed with their documentation reviewed and cases that were cited between August and September of the same year until it closed."

He added: "The embassy opened and still nothing, we have not been given another option, nor have we been notified to find out about our immigration status, we are the ones who are truly punished for being legal, we were already invited to the CFRP in 2014 and we deserve an answer."

In response to the numerous criticisms received, the specialists of the diplomatic representation in question assured that they would soon provide information on the work they are carrying out in relation to the cases of immigrant visas that remain pending after several years.

The truth is that the United States Embassy in Havana receives daily various complaints related to the processing of these requests due to the lack of a statement on its part regarding the existing delays, mainly due to the restriction of its operations in 2017.

In this regard, another Antillean woman said: "What is happening with the documentation of the CFRP cases interviewed and others cited in 2017? Why are they not projected with our cases? Our relatives, who are American citizens, paid everything established and we are still here on the island without receiving a solution to our cases."

"We are in a migratory limbo where no one can give us an answer, much less a solution to our cases," stressed another citizen of the island.

People involved in these procedures are advised to remain alert to the information that the aforementioned diplomatic headquarters will soon offer on the subject of family reunification.

Good morning and blessings to all. We appreciate this statement since there are many of us who have been with our documentation paid for and in order for a decade or more. We are cases cited and interviewed with the closing of the CFRP embassy, โ€‹โ€‹mostly F-4 and F-3, who have been severely punished for having opted for legal migration and being affected in every possible way. We are human beings, we get older, our children grow every day. Many were young back then and are almost coming of age, as many have also reached it. Everyone who is going through this process can no longer stand so much despair and hopelessness. It is not fair what happened to the CFRP cases cited and interviewed in 2017 when the embassy closed. We deserve something satisfactory and immediate because we have been the ones truly punished for being legal.
    Greetings and blessings to all

Hello, I am one of the cases that had an interview date scheduled at the closing of the US Embassy and although we have asked, we were never given an answer about what is happening with our cases. We thought that when consular activities resumed we should be attended to with priority, but it has been two years since the resumption and still nothing. We ask please to be attended to like many other cases that had interviews conducted.

I am one of those who had an appointment scheduled for September 20, 2017 before the embassy closed. Even though the embassy has already opened, they have not given me an appointment. Please, I would like an answer. Thank you.

I was the winner of the 99 raffle, which the US government gave me that prize and I would like to know some answer through this medium because every time I ask for some information they tell me that the case is on hold and that Melo delivered those documents in 2006.

Good afternoon. I am a F1 from 2016, with a lawyer in place, case closed. And they still haven't called me, I'm supposedly already for an interview and nothing. My lawyer has written to the embassy several times and they haven't given her an answer. My mother is already 84 years old and I'm still here. I hope they can resolve this delay as soon as possible.

Good afternoon, with much respect I would like to ask you to give more priority to family reunification cases, family unity is the most beautiful thing that can exist. In my case I need so much good news, since my daughter has a kidney health problem and I still haven't had an answer for anything. This is a desperate wait, although we must not lose faith. Best regards.
