The U.S. Border Patrol reported that it detained several Cubans who landed in the Florida Keys.
"U.S. Border Patrol agents responded to a migrant disembarkation in the Florida Keys and encountered three Cuban migrants. The migrants came ashore in a homemade boat near Islamorada," Border Patrol said.
In recent weeks there has been an increase in the number of Cuban arrivals by sea and interceptions by the Coast Guard.
Authorities have warned that arriving in the United States illegally disqualifies them from any of the programs currently in place to enter the country legally.
