Several suspects have been arrested by Florida police for alleged involvement in an insurance fraud scheme involving staged car collisions.

The investigation revealed that a team orchestrated a staged accident on August 20, 2024, at the intersection of South 17th Avenue and Moffett Street in Hollywood, seeking to claim nonexistent medical services and defraud insurance providers of thousands of dollars.

Among those implicated in the case are Pavel Vidal del Toro, Yislan Barrera Favier, and Oscar Mustelier Salas. Along with other associates, they fraudulently charged more than $84,000 for purported medical services. The investigation revealed the complicity of centers such as Ocean Health Care Solutions and Magic Healing in this scheme, exaggerating claims through fake therapy sessions.

The statements of Legna Angie Romero Alemany, who admitted in her testimony that she was promised $1,000 for participating in the accident, when she ultimately only received $500. She also alleged that the clinic pressured her to sign documents for appointments she didn't attend.

This situation is related to a broader investigation into similar scams in South Florida. In previous initiatives, authorities have dismantled illicit organizations within clinics that offered fake medical services to deceive insurers.

The detainees face charges of insurance fraud, aggravated car accident, and grand theft, with bails exceeding $2,500 in several cases. The investigation continues, and authorities do not rule out the possibility of more arrests.
