Car crashes into a house in Miami, leaving it severely damaged.

A home was struck by a vehicle around 11:55 p.m. Sunday. The incident occurred in Kendall, southwest Miami-Dade County, causing property damage and hospitalization of the driver. The occupants of the home were unharmed.

The incident was reported around 11:55 p.m. on Sunday, March 16, at Southwest 142nd Avenue and Southwest 24th Street in Kendall, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office (MDSO).


Authorities report the car initially jumped the sidewalk, crashed through a white fence at the property, and eventually crashed into the side exterior of the home.

The truck was left among the rubble in the backyard of the house, leaving a huge hole, exposing the interior of the house.

Miami-Dade firefighters responded to the scene and transported the victim by ambulance. The driver was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The accident was captured on the home's security cameras. Images show the arrival of paramedics and the removal of the driver. At first light, construction crews arrived to assess the structural deterioration of the house.

The homeowner, who chose not to speak on camera, confirmed that his family was present in the home during the incident, but fortunately, none of them were physically harmed.


Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the incident and assess whether alcohol or other substance use played a role. It is currently confirmed that the driver was fined for negligent driving.
