Yesterday, Wednesday, November 8, the Republican debate was held in the city of Miami, where former President Donald Trump did not attend for the second time, as he was holding a political rally in the city of Hialeah, attended by many of his followers and local political figures.
At the rally, he outlined the priorities of his mandate with regard to the immigration situation facing the country, as well as the inflation caused by failed policies.
For his part, Hialeah Mayor Esteban Bovo expressed to the former president his intention to name an avenue in the city, mostly inhabited by Spanish speakers, after him due to his career as president. In this regard, he expressed: "You always kept your promises to this great nation and next week I will ask the council to authorize a street with your name, Donald Trump Way." During his revelation, the former president and Bovo held a traffic sign that read: "President Donald J. Trump Avenue." The former president stated in this regard: "It was an honor, a great honor, I didn't know that."
A new Council meeting is scheduled for November 14, where a resolution to change the name of Palm Avenue to Trump Avenue will be presented.
Hialeah is a predominantly Republican city and many of its voters are Spanish-speaking. None of its avenues are named after presidents or former presidents, and this would be the first time.
