A lucky man in California has become a multimillionaire overnight after winning $1000 billion in the Powerball jackpot.
The California Lottery announced that Las Palmitas Mini Market in Los Angeles was the seller of the jackpot ticket for Wednesday night's drawing. The winning combination was comprised of the numbers 7, 10, 11, 13 and 24, with Powerball 24.
Before taxes, the amount of money waiting to be claimed as a jackpot increases to an impressive $516,8 million.
The Powerball jackpot has been reset to $20 million.
For 38 consecutive drawings, the Powerball prize remained without a winner, with the last win occurring on April 19.
