A photo circulating on social media of two teenagers, supposedly Americans from Miami, holding eye-catching signs has gone viral., during the "No Kings" protests, in which thousands of people participated across the country, yesterday, Saturday, June 14.
The youngsters posed in front of the lens of Cuban journalist Yusnaby Pérez, next to an ingenious sign that said "Don't take our Latinas" , and another one in which you could read "I'm looking for a girlfriend".
The image was captured next to the emblematic monument Torch of Friendship, in the far northwest of Bayfront park, on Biscayne Boulevard in downtown Miami, where thousands of people gathered this weekend to peacefully protest raids by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
In less than 24 hours, the photo posted on social media by the reporter has accumulated 169 reactions and thousands of comments from users who also put his inventiveness to the test.
"Hi, I'm the father of one of them and yes, there are also applications open for mom 🙂↔️," wrote a netizen identified as Wilson Flores.
"Save a life, adopt a Cuban," another user joked.
"Further proof of how much the gringos need us. We're really hard workers," "Everyone shines in their own moment... these guys are unique, at least they'll have a girlfriend and are gaining prominence," "They made me laugh today, a touch of humor is always needed," "I saw them interviewed on Telemundo, and they're Argentinian. And what they were doing was just messing around, joking around with the crowd. They were cool, relaxed," are some of the comments read online.
New demonstrations are taking place this Sunday in Miami and across the United States, as previously announced. Fortunately, they are proceeding peacefully and without incident, at least in the city of exile.
