According to Sierra Maestra, a multiple accident that took place this Friday in the city of Santiago de Cuba left one dead and five injured.
The incident occurred when a MAK-500 dump truck, belonging to the construction sector, was traveling down Quintero and upon reaching the roundabout, at the intersection with Avenida de las Américas, it collided with several vehicles from ETECSA, Banco Popular de Ahorro and CIMEX, as well as a tanker truck from the Communal Services and a horse-drawn vehicle in which three people were traveling.
The deceased was identified as Gabriel Santiesteban, a 48-year-old man who lived in Jobito.
The injured, Ernesto Medina Miguel, 26, Thairy Verdecia González, 41, Kenia Galván Morales, 37, Luis Armando Gamboa, 55, and Ana Esther Castillo, 54, received medical attention at the Saturnino Lora Provincial Hospital.
